Abstract

Abstract From the previous article describing the initial processes and outcomes of the three year long project called “Grounding Contemplative Education for Wellbeing in Society”, one of the major findings was that contemplation-based learning processes could obviously bring about new understandings and experiences regarding mindfulness practices. In other words, on the surface level they could trigger the right attitude regarding mindfulness in participants realizing that it can be done in nontraditional ways easily adaptable for all styles of modern life, and in the deeper level they could provide participants essential skills, like deep listening, to improve their relationship and also to make them ready for the next steps of spiritual advancement. This article is its continuing version, elaborating on such spiritual advancement towards personal transformation. Through the direct experiences of the researcher (who was also a facilitator, a co-facilitator, or a participant in a number of learning processes of similar kind), data regarding the steps of learning processes appropriately designed for such purpose and the relevant inner phenomena of participants were narrated and analyzed qualitatively. The overall findings portrayed the milestones of the process leading one towards his / her spiritual transformation. However, such processes were unique and unequal in profundity and progression due to a number of reasons which were further discussed.
